We recommend our XEDE Processor for the Pathfinder R51 2.5L TD. We have seen great improvements in power, throttle response, driveability and economy. For a standard vehicle (HP0) - ChipTorque has delivered more than 50 extra Nm of Torque, which is particularly evident at low rpm. A 9% gain in peak power was achieved with up to a 16% power gain at specific points throughout the rev range. Take a look at the dyno graphs for the results.

XEDE Processor
The XEDE Processor is an interceptor style Engine Management System. It generates changes in fueling and ignition timing by changing the factory ECU’s load and crank reference input signals to improve the factory tune, specifically to suit an aftermarket exhaust, engine modification or supercharger.

It has the additional functions of electronic boost control and optional dual maps to deliver individual tunes which can be changed at the flick of a switch while driving, e.g. High/Low boost or Power/Economy programs. Two stage intercooler water spray control or any on/off or PWM function including injector drive for an additional injector can be incorporated and controlled using the XEDE Processor.

Supplied with XEDE Processor unit, wiring harness, vehicle specific wiring diagram, base map and XMap tuning software.

 
 
 
Common Rail Diesel Technology
All internal combustion engines need two key ingredients to operate: air and fuel. The precise delivery of these ingredients is what makes clean and powerful combustion possible. If you can get a large amount of air pumped in you increase the power of the engine and if you get large amount of fuel pumped in as well the power is enhanced even further. Turbochargers accomplish the first goal by helping deliver copious amounts of air to help diesels operate cleanly, efficiently and powerfully, commonrail accomplishes the second. High fuel pressure produces a fine mist of fuel that burns better and cleaner in the combustion chamber. Not only that, but for each combustion cycle, the common rail allows up to five injections per cycle. The driver benefits as lower fuel consumption (improved mileage), better engine performance and less noise compared with older diesels.
