Mazda MX-5 SPNB 1.8L Turbo
ChipTorque’s Technical Director Lachlan Riddel was contracted by Mazda Australia to provide the factory tuning for the limited edition Mazda SP, released in Australia in 2001.
Here we offer the tune Mazda did not want released! This is provided in ChipTorque’s Mazda NB Performance Chip. This upgraded tune is suitable for use with standard boost pressure (7.75 Psi), but can also be paired with a boost increase to about 9.5 Psi. Upgrading to ChipTorque’s aftermarket tune for a standard SP improves throttle response at mid to high rpm (above 4,000 rpm) and makes a slight improvement in power of up to 10kW at the wheels extra peak power and up to 15kW extra power at the wheels throughout the rev range.
