 ChipTorque and customers at the Queensland Commodore Pheonix Lights Drag Day. Willowbank Raceway Saturday 12th July 2008. Congratulations to Tim McCarthy for taking out the Best Outlaw Class in his 1989 C4 Corvette tuned by ChipTorque. Tim improved on his personal best by running an 11.925 second quarter mile at 114.4mph.
ChipTorque congratulates Gazza from the Queensland Commodore club who won the Best Ran and Best Presented Class sponsored by ChipTorque, taking home a $400 gift voucher which he promptly put toward a ChipTorque performance memcal for his VT V6 Commodore!

One of our long time customers who is known for making interesting and unexpected 4WD vehicle modifications has taken another unusual step and converted a VY SS Ute into ‘DA HULK’. The Engine is still VY with (mostly, I believe) Nissan Patrol underneath. With those monster tyres, a little more (read a lot more) torque was called for so Gary (the owner and creator of this mean machine) opted for a Harrop Supercharger kit for the most effective bolt-on improvement. Once Gary had the hardware in place, ChipTorque took over to unleash the full fury of 'DA HULK'. Not only were the supercharged GenIII’s fuel and timing requirements corrected, but we also had the challenge of keeping the PCM happy with strange gearbox and speed sensors. All that and getting the speedo to read correctly. |
